Call Me Maybe: Group Music Video Evaluation

What We Can Use In Our Final Product

• I think we can use the clear story line that this uses.
• I also think that we could use a band part as part of our music video.

Planning Process: What Type of Song?

I contributed all the notes that are written in purple.

This is a photo of the mind mapping session we produced as a group. We were discussing the different songs, genres and artists that we could choose as a group for our final products.

 

Criteria we have Chosen:

We want there to be a clear narrative to the song, as well as being quite upbeat, we also wanted to use a Pop song that was ten years old or older.

Evaluation of Our Practise Music Video

 

This is our evaluation of our practise music video. We chose to do this evaluation as a group discussion so that we can have all our ideas shown and critically analyse what we have produced. We also decided to use a 'shot-in-shot' technique, in the editing process, to create this video and this is the result.

Through making this evaluation it has helped us get an idea of what we can do and what skills we can bring from making both the music video and the evaluation into our final products.

Practise Music Video

This is our practice music video. From this task we have learnt how to use the new digital cameras and also learnt how to use the latest version of iMovie on the Mac Book. Producing this video also enabled us to learn about other varied editing techniques such as adding credits, animations, creating a rewind effect, making some clips appear in black and white and creating a fade to white and fade to black for transitions between cuts to create the video.

This practise music video will be very beneficial when we create our final product.

Lip Syncing Practise

 

This video was created in the process of learning how to edit clips. This was a practise video and helped us to learn how to use the iMovie software, especially learning how to lip sync a video to music. The creation of this also helped us to understand how to edit a piece of film such as adding credits and the introductory texts used at the beginning of this video.
