Love Me Again: My Music Video Evaluation

What elements enable you to recognise the genre?

The genre of this music video is established through the setting and the basic narrative. The setting is within a disco type senario and then there are two main characters; male and female. They seem to fall in love and then run away. The casting of the main characters also links with a Pop music genre as they are seen as young and wishing to have fun, which would be mirrored in their target audience.

Why is it important from a distributors point-of-view that the video highlights the genre of the music?

It is important for a distributor to show the genre of the music so that it targets the audience that they are wishing to aim for.

How is the artist/band used in the video?

The artist is the main act on the stage and sings whilst the action of the two main characters is seen in contrasting shots such as running across the streets and in different places within the club.

How many locations are used?

There is one location mainly used throughout the whole music video for the main singer (John Newman) however the 'main couple' are seen in different shots within the club and within the last couple of shots the main male and female characters are seen outside the club and running through the streets.

How does the film's media language appeal to its target audience?
